THE RETURN OF EDWIN EKA......

Lagos born musician-cum actor Edwin Eka is a multi-talented afro-pop /dancehall/ reggae artiste still buffing tougher in the Nigerian entertainment business. This is one artiste that has been on the threshold of most events and gigs happening in the entertainment city of Surulere, Lagos.

Edwin, as he is popularly known started lubricating his musical inventiveness in the late 80s by learning the tricks of the game from the masters. This impelled him to successful multiple recording sessions with countless big time musicians in Nigeria.

In his quest for professionalism, the fair-complexion Awa Atai, Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state artiste took a massive headway to further train as a sound engineer at the famous and popular Kingsley Ogoro’s ‘Klink Studio’ situated at Tafawa Balewa Crescent, in Surulere, Lagos state.

The dreadlock Federal Government College, Maiduguri Alumni trained sound engineer has worked with countless musicians and producers like Kingsley Ogoro, Ayo Bankole Jr, Alex O, Mike Okiri, Albert Kalu, OJB Jezreel, Sammie Okposo, Sammie Needle, Glory Meruwa, CY Ogoro, Sunday Are, and many more as studio sound engineer; and   co-producer at Klink Studio, Living Praise, G. A Production, Alfa Mega, Sound on Sound and Ecube Music all in Lagos, Nigeria.

Edwin, who is also an actor and model has his name on over thirty (30) Nollywood movies and sound tracks like “Danger, All for Love, Unforgettable, Two    Bad Boys” etc. He was also featured in a number of television commercials like ‘Yes Cigarette, Census Yoruba; Blacky and Oconma's musical video respectively.

Edwin has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years with lots of singles like  "Love Fever, African Pretty, Sister Juliet, All Have Got is Love, Youth Cryto his credit; according to him, “right now I am putting finishing touches to the completion of the recording of my highly anticipated new album; and also planning shooting few musical videos for promotion and export. My dream is to make a name for myself internationally”.

FLAG-BEARERS OF RIO 2016 OLYMPICS.......

Hello readers, carrying a nation's flag at the Olympic Games opening ceremony is one of the highest honours for any athlete. You just don’t need to sit in limbo without knowing who is leading your country out at the 78,838 capacity Maracanã Stadium, Rio de Janeiro,Brazil in the XXXI Rio 2016 opening ceremony The flag bearers at the 2016 Summer Olympics officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, and commonly known as Rio 2016 include some of the greatest athletes of their generation. But while not all of them are superstars, each one represents their country with pride and esteem. Opening rounds in certain events began on 3 August 2016—two days before the opening ceremony and the Games is formally running from 5 August to 21 August 2016.

More than 11,000 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs), including first time entrants Kosovo and South Sudan, are taking part in 38 Olympic sports—including rugby sevens and golf, which were added by the International Olympic Committee in 2009.; with 306 sets of medals to be won. These sporting events is taking place at 33 venues in the host city and at five venues in the cities of São Paulo (Brazil's largest city), Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Brasília (Brazil's capital), and Manaus.


THE MARACANA STADIUM
Bidding alongside cities like Madrid, Tokyo and Chicago, Rio de Janeiro became the first South American city to host the Summer Olympics after it was announced at the 121st IOC Session held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 2 October 2009. These are the first Summer Olympic Games under the IOC presidency of Thomas Bach.
