The Directors’ Guild of
Nigeria (DGN), which is the apex guild in the Nigerian film industry, tagged
Nollywood congratulated Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
Gbajabiamila was on Tuesday June 11, 2019 elected Speaker of the
House of Representatives for the Ninth Assembly of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria.

Mr. Gbajabiamila who
is a candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled 281 votes
defeating his close contender Mohammed Bago who got 76 votes out of 358
lawmakers who voted.
Gbaja as he is popularly
called represents Surulere 1 Federal Constituency which house the Directors'
Guild of Nigeria's National Secretariat at 15, Simisola Street, Off Olufemi
Street/ Ogunlano Drive, Surulere, Lagos promised to work hand in hand with the
guild to improve the standards and values of creative practice in the country.

Amata who is the President of the guild personally made this
congratulatory gesture to Femi Gbajabiamila through a letter addressed to the Speaker,
Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila said he deserved to lead the chambers of the 9th
National Assembly due to his antecedence and enviable performances under
several speakers in the House of Representatives.
