The rift between our bordering communities, the Ikokotoru Community of Warri North LGA of Delta State and the Adoloseimo Community of Ese Odo LGA of Ondo, has called for serious concern.

As Ijaws, we have lived together as brothers for over decades without crisis everywhere we find ourselves, and it is that brotherly spirit that has kept us strong and victorious even in times of trouble.
Treading the path of slaughtering ourselves as a result of disputes among ourselves is totally condemnable and must be stopped immediately.
I personally condemn the callous manslaughter that has happened between these communities, thereby leading to the loss of lives of young and promising youths from both ends.
I commiserate with the families of the victims of this dastardly act that has cut short the promising future of our brothers.
On this note, I am calling on the Commissioner of Police of Delta State, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi; the DPO of Koko Division, CSP Luckman Olaogun; the Commissioner of Police of Ondo State, CP Adebowale Lawal; the DPO of Arogbo Police Post; the Chairman of Warri North LGA; the Chairman of Ese Odo LGA; and other security agencies within the region to rise to the occasion and maintain the peace we have enjoyed over the years.
I also extend my appeal to our traditional rulers of both Egbema and Arogbo Kingdoms to work together towards a lasting and peaceful resolution to this violence that has been unleashed. There must be respect for the sanctity of human life and a mutual co-existence.
It is my prayer that the families whose loved ones have been lost be comforted, from both the Arogbo Kingdom and Egbema Kingdom, respectively.
I urge the groups involved in the conflict to immediately cease hostility and refrain from further attacks on innocent people, especially youths who are the leaders of tomorrow.
We must learn to resolve our differences peacefully without the use of violence or taking up of arms against ourselves; we are all we've got.
May peace be restored in our kingdoms.
